2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your subscription and unlock the correct AI tutor tier
• To send enrollment confirmation and instructional emails
• To respond to support requests, refund requests, or general enquiries
• To improve our course content and platform based on usage patterns

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services We Use

To operate WSM Academy, we rely on the following trusted third-party services, each of which processes a limited part of your data on our behalf:

• Paystack — processes your subscription payments securely. We never see or store your card details.
• Supabase — securely stores your subscription status (email, tier, active/inactive) so the AI tutor knows what you've paid for.
• Resend — sends enrollment and instructional emails on our behalf.
• Anthropic (Claude AI) — powers the AI tutor conversations. Your messages to the tutor are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses.
• Vercel — hosts our website.

Each of these providers has its own privacy and security practices governing how they handle data passed to them.

4. Data Security

Your subscription data is protected using database-level access rules that prevent anyone — including our own website's public code — from reading or editing subscriber records directly. Only a narrow, purpose-built check ("does this email have an active subscription at this tier?") is exposed to the website itself.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and subscription information for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping, tax, and legal compliance purposes. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time, subject to legal retention requirements (e.g., financial transaction records).

6. Your Rights

Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to:

• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention obligations

7. Cookies & Local Storage

Our website uses your browser's local storage to remember your login email between visits, so you don't need to re-enter it every time you return to your AI tutor. This is stored on your device only, not shared with third parties.

WSM Academy is intended for users aged 18 and older, or minors with parental/guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without such consent.
